Greenoaks Capital has led the round along with participation from Firstmark, IVP, Tencent, Technology Opportunity Partners and Index Ventures.
Discord was launched in the year 2015 and it has drowned over 200 million users from every corner of the world. The program based on chat also offers tons of impressive features just for free, on the other hand, it allows the users to customize and create their own text and voice chat channels.
It has also become one among the premier places meant for different online communities intended to gather. Last time the company was valued around $1.65 billion in the crowdfunding which began early this year.
Discord has established a larger base for the users and has also launched a recent online store which comes within the platform of the chat earlier in October. There are a lot of games which are offered in the store that comes from the independent developers.
Discord has recently announced that the creators are going to earn 90% of total revenue which are going to be generated from each of the sales. The users who have seemingly subscribed to the Nitro service pay of Discord at $99/year or even $9.99/month for gaining unlimited access to over $1,000 price of the games right from the Discord store by gaining much more cheat features.
The brand new store places are going to face stiff competition with some of the heavyweights of the industry. The store of Discord is going right against the services such as far, Steam as well as the largest digital games store of PC along with creators of Fortnite, Epic Games.
