When Freddie Figgers was a baby in the late 1980s, he was found in a dumpster. This made the news.
From being a baby who was never cared for to starting a company worth millions of dollars.
The only time your life is over is when you give up. Freddie Figgers showed everyone this when he went from being a baby left in a dumpster to a successful business owner.
Figgers’ biological mother left him on the street just two days after he was born. Freddie Friggers was left in a cold dumpster by his heartless mother, who didn’t think about what could happen as a result of her cruel act. Do you agree that no one in their right mind would leave a baby in a place like that?
The now-CEO had a rough start to his life, and if you think about it, that could have been the end of it.
Nathan and Betty Figgers, who were a very loving and supportive couple, were sent to him by God. They took in the baby, who had been left alone and was very smart about technology when he grew up.
After his terrible start, no one thought he’d be so successful in life.
Freddie’s first computer was given to him when he was only nine years old. It was broken, but after a few tries of fixing, tweaking, and troubleshooting, he was able to get it to work.
Freddie Figgers turned out to be a genius (or at least very smart), and he got his first job when he was only 12 years old. Then, when he turned 15, he already owned a company that did cloud computing. He decided to start the company after a tornado hit an Alabama car dealership and wiped out all of its computer files, including information about its customers.
Freddie Figgers tried to come up with a way for people and big businesses alike to back up their information on a remote server. He did this to prevent data loss in the future. When you think of a remote server, you probably picture a fancy building. In his case, the “remote server” was just in his own backyard.
Freddie Figgers also made a special shoe with a GPS tracker and a way to talk back and forth. He said that his father, who was showing signs of Alzheimer’s disease at the time, got him really interested in making such a thing. He said that his father often forgot to do simple things, like put on his pants.
Freddie Figgers went into the healthcare field because he wanted to make sure his dad was safe all the time.
He could talk to his dad even when they weren’t together, thanks to the two-way communicator. So, he didn’t have to worry that his dad would do something bad. On the other hand, the GPS let him know where his father was at all times, so he would never get lost.
He quit school in the end because he got a job offer and missed about two to three weeks of school. In the four weeks that he was out of school, he was able to build a computer program. He was paid $80,000 for it, so he started putting money into his own telecom company, Figgers Communication.
At the age of 24, Figgers had already made 80 custom software programs. What a guy! Even though he was a “dumpster baby,” he did all of that. Nothing from his past stopped him from reaching his dreams and making his own money.
100% focus and commitment!
Freddie Figgers didn’t give up and kept climbing until he reached the top. The business he built is now worth more than $62 million.
Figgers is successful, but he also gives back to his community by giving scholarships to college students who deserve them, sponsoring programs for young people, paying the bills of seniors, and saving homes from foreclosure.
I believe turning caring into action, and if you see a problem find a solution to deliver an impact to change someone’s life,
Figgers said.
I’m going to impact this world and change today for a better tomorrow because money is nothing but a tool, but with that tool, we can impact and change everyday people’s lives with opportunities.
Everyone who came from nothing like Figgers can learn a lot from his story. From being a “dumpster baby” to the CEO of a multimillion-dollar telecom company, he has come a long way.
