Microsoft confirmed the development of new Xbox consoles at E3 2019. According to the reports, the project Xbox Scarlett is aiming to bring PC level graphics to consoles.
The French website Jeuxvideo reports that Microsoft is planning to launch the newer iteration at E3 2019.
However, to compete with PS5 and recently teased Google Stadia then Microsoft have to look at some major issues of Xbox.
We take a look at some of the issues that have plagued Xbox for quite some time:
Backward Compatibility
Recent reports suggested that Sony already patented a tech which allows PS5 to run older games on it.
Every gamer wishes to play their old favorites on the latest hardware. Microsoft should try to improve their backward compatible games library.
More Exclusive Titles
PS4 have some of the most critically acclaimed titles like Uncharted, God of War and Spiderman as exclusives.
Xbox always lacked in the number of quality exclusive title however this might change since Microsoft has been buying studios left and right.
Xbox Cross-Platform Play
Microsoft always had better cross-platform support. An older report suggest that Microsoft is willing to work to with other console makers to bring true cross-platform support.
The tech giant supports Minecraft and Fortnite two of the biggest game in the market. And we hope they keep pushing the envelope of cross-platform play.
Better Pricing and Options of Xbox
According to the rumors, the problem is already solved and if reports are true then Microsoft will launch two variants of Xbox at E3 2019.
There are two variants “Lockhart” and “Anaconda”.
Lockhart will be a cheaper offering and it is touted to compete with Google Stadia.
Anaconda will we the expensive variant and will bring PC grade hardware in the console sphere.
Ease of Use
It is a personal preference but Microsoft should work on improving the UI of Xbox consoles on the upcoming hardware.
