The first episode of Game of Thrones season 8 premiered this Sunday, and it was every bit as good as fans were hoping for. The episode marked an end to the wait for nearly 2 years since the release of the last season.

Since the airing of the episode, a deleted scene has been released by HBO that confirms long-standing theory fans have harboured for several years now. The episode showed Jon Snow riding dragons alongside Danaerys, a feat previously thought impossible by anyone who did not have Targaeryn blood.
The cut footage
After they land, Jon makes a small joke, saying to Dany, “You’ve completely ruined horses for me.” What he said next was cut out of the final version of the episode.
In the new video released, Jon says, “It almost seemed like he knew where I wanted to go,” referring to the dragon he was riding. This was a huge reveal, as later in the episode it is confirmed that he is, in fact, the long lost Targaeryn prince.
In the final few moments of the Game of Thrones episode, Samwell Tarly tells Jon about his real parents. It turns out that Rhaegar annulled his marriage with Elia Martell to marry Lyanna Stark, and Jon is their son. He is, in fact, the heir to the throne.
How Jon feels
Kit Harrington, who plays Jon Snow, expressed Jon’s sentiments on getting the news. He revealed that Jon does not want to know any of it, because he does not want the throne.
He also added, “The end of the world might be coming soon but at least he’s in love with somebody and knows who he is, and then comes this sledgehammer.”
The second episode of Game of Thrones releases this Sunday on HBO. Tune in to know what happens next.
