Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss has something to say about Game of Thrones season 8 ending and it involves the books by George R.R. Martin. The fans are getting to know who will win and get the throne. There are six more episodes to go and everything will come to an end.

While everyone is trying to figure out who will sit on the Iron Throne, the showrunners revealed that they were equally confused. Now that the show is ahead of the books, it’s not the same. They admitted that they had no clue about the end themselves as George is still in the process of writing the books. The pair had an important decision to make.
Dan and David revealed a spoiler that the Game of Thrones season 8 ending could be significantly different for the readers and viewers. They don’t want to spoil the ending for the readers, now that the show is ahead of the books. David said,
[The concern] used to be that the books would spoil the show for people — and luckily it did not, for the most part.
Game of Thrones showrunners had a discussion with George Martin over it. Dan and David won’t tell the viewers about the differences in the books and the show. The GoT book readers will get to experience it when the books come out.
Even George does not have a clear vision of how Game of Thrones will end. He discovers many things at the time of writing. George is himself waiting to see how it will unravel. So this time, the readers won’t get to know much even after watching Game of Thrones season 8 ending.
