Game of Thrones season 8 episode 3 trailer
In Game of Thrones season 8 episode 3 trailer, we saw that the Night King has arrived and the battle has started. Arrows are being fired and Brienne’s war cry indicates that their time’s up. In the trailer for the upcoming episode, we can see Daenerys telling Jon Snow, that the dead are already there.
What is going to happen in the third episode of GoT season 8?
With the larger threat at bay, things at Winterfell are not going too smooth. Sansa, Tyrion, Varys will be hiding in the crypts of Winterfell. There have been many theories regarding the crypts of Winterfell. One such theory was that the people buried in the crypts will come back to life when the Night King comes to Winterfell. The crypts are supposed to be a safe haven for the people, for anything can happen in Game of Thrones. If the Starks buried in the crypts return to life and come under the control of the Night King, it’ll mean everyone’s doom.
But, one fan on Reddit had pointed out that they might not be under the Night King’s control.
We can take the example of Benjen Stark, who was a victim of the attack of the White Walkers. But, he did not transform into a wight because the Children of the Forest plunged dragonglass into his chest. Benjen Stark had appeared in season one to take Jon Snow to the Wall. After a long span of absence, he finally appeared in season 6 and 7 to save Bran Stark and Jon Snow from the white walkers.
So, there might be a possibility that the old Starks would rise to life not to help the Night King, but the army of Winterfell.
What is the larger significance of Jenny’s Song?
Also, Podrick Payne’s song (Jenny’s Song) has become quite the talk of the town after the second episode. Many fans have theorized that the song has deeper meanings and can hint future happenings. The song is about the infamous affair between Prince Duncan Targaryen and Jenny of Oldstone. The affair had led him to give up the Iron Throne for the love of his life. And the same kind of situation has relevance in the current scenario.
Will Jon be able to give up the throne for Daenerys? He knows that he is the rightful heir. But, on the other hand, the same question could be asked for Daenerys. Will she give up her quest to sit on the Iron Throne because Jon is the real heir? Because she sure has risen from the lowest cadres to finally get to where she is today.
