Let us take a closer look at what this error was and examine how it could have happened.
Error on Game of Thrones Season 8: Daenerys’s Wig Changed Mid-Scene
The first episode of Season 8 saw Daenerys and Jon Snow enter Winterfell. This was Dany’s first visit to Winterfell and she was given strange looks by the onlookers. However, while all this was happening, some viewers noticed that her hairstyle changed mid-scene. The way her braids were done is in two different styles!
In the initial arrival scene, her hair was cross-braided over her head. However, in the next scene, they had been pulled to the back of the head.
How Did This Mistake Happen on The Show?
Game of Thrones Season 8 took a long time to shoot across various locations. These icy landscapes were mostly shot in Iceland where sunlight was available only for six hours. Hence, shoot timings were pretty limited.
This error likely happened because the dragon mother was using two different wigs as the scene might have been shot over multiple days. Nevertheless, such continuity errors on Game of Thrones are pretty rare and this was indeed an exception.
