The Golden State Warriors are off to a poor start. Without Draymond Green on the roster, they have not been able to win many games. Green is serving his 5 game suspension and is expected to return to court on Tuesday.
The Warriors are performing poorly in the 2023-24 NBA Season, especially on the defensive side. Not only does the defensive side of the Warriors look weak, but the playmaking ability also is not up to the mark to win the title.
Draymond Green’s Chokehold on Rudy Gobert Earns 5-Game Suspension
It was just over a minute into the game between the Golden State Warriors and the Minnesota Timberwolves, and there was a big fight. Jaden McDaniels and Klay Thompson were fighting, and Thompson’s t-shirt was ripped off. Then, Rudy Gobert grabbed Thompson, and Green got mad over the Wolves.
Within a few seconds, Green wrapped his arms around Gobert’s neck and held him for a few seconds. Due to this, Green was eliminated from the games and received a suspension of 5 games.
This is not the first time Green has gotten into trouble like this. He was also suspended for one game in the playoffs as he got into a fight with Domantas Sabonis where Green stepped on Sabonis’ chest. Green will be returning to the court on Tuesday night against the Sacramento Kings.
Draymond addressed the incident to the media, where he said he has no regrets about his actions.
Green said:
“I don’t live my life with regrets.”
“I’ll come to a teammate’s defense any time that I’m in a position to come to a teammate’s defense. … What matters to me is how the people that I care about feel, first and foremost…That’s it for me.”

Warriors Struggles Continue Without Draymond Green: Title Hopes Fade for Golden State
Without Draymond Green on the roster, the Warriors are missing on both sides, offense and defense. Some suggest that the Warriors should utilize Chris Paul on the roster, who fits well on the lineup.
Even when Green was present, the Warriors were not looking good in the current season. With players like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green on the roster, the Golden State is not looking like a title contender for this season.
