There are some distinct trends adopted in every industry and same is the case with smartphones. First, we saw notches then came the motorized systems and now’s the trend of foldable devices. We might see the latest trend being embraced by Google on its upcoming Pixel line-up.

It looks like the search engine giant is all set to follow the same route that many manufacturers are undertaking. Maybe future Pixel phones by the company will come with a foldable display.
According to a report by CNET, Google is already working on a foldable Pixel phone but don’t expect it to release anytime soon.
Google believes that foldable screens are not a necessity the company also supposes that it is not a must-have feature.
Google’s, Experimentation With A Foldable Phone
The current generation of foldable devices are a mess both the Samsung Galaxy fold and Huawei Mate X are not only super expensive both of them have a bunch of flaws.
Mario Queiroz, Google’s Product VP had to say this when asked about their plans for a foldable smartphone.
“We’re definitely prototyping the technology. We’ve been doing it for a long time,” he also added, “I don’t think there’s a clear use case yet.”
He also said that Foldable smartphones are not a requirement of today
“Right now, you don’t need to have a foldable. It’s kind of a ‘nice-to-have.”
As of now, it is not clear how far along the company has come with respect to developing its foldable device.
Creating something this unique is a challenging task loads of work has to be undertaken in order to achieve a suitable product.
Google, as of now seems to be focusing on its current-gen devices, the company recently launched the affordable Pixel 3a and the next obvious intent of the company is on Pixel 4 and 4XL.
It Looks like Google is just experimenting with the foldable tech and has no real plans of launching anything concrete anytime soon.
