Google Pixelbook 2 doesn’t have a fixed release date as of now but it could be pusher for an earlier launch. The reason why Google could fast-track its next lines of Chromebook is that Samsung just announced its Galaxy Chromebook which has high-end specs and features compared to the first Pixelbook.
The Galaxy Chromebook from Samsung has received positive reviews and will be released in the first quarter of 2020 (Q1 2020). Google needs to stay ahead in the competition of laptops and for that Pixelbook 2 will get a huge upgrade in specs and the launch date will also have to shift earlier in 2020.
Pixelbook 2 2020 Launch Date in response to Galaxy Chromebook
Google’s first Pixelbook was launched in 2017 and at that time it offered high powered specs on the Chromebook which also raise the market price for the laptops. Pixelbook with 7th-generation Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM, and 128GB SSD storage had price starting from $999 for the standard model. But at present, Galaxy Chromebook is offering 10th-generation Core i5 with WiFi 6 support, 8GB RAM, and at least 256GB SSD at the same price.

Along with that, Samsung Chromebook also has features such as a 13.3-inch AMOLED 4K UHD screen and 49.2 watt-hours battery whereas Google’s Pixelbook only has a 12.3-inch Quad HD screen and 41Wh battery. It is why Google has to keep up with the Pixelbook 2 while answering to aggressive market of Chromebook in 2020. Pixelbook Go is not an answer and Google will unveil Pixelbook 2 with upgraded features in late 2020.
Pixelbook 2 Upgraded Processors and Battery Features
Google Pixelbook 2 could have Intel’s 10th-generation Core processors, 4K display and longer-lasting battery features. It has to somehow do better than the Galaxy Chromebook and also keep the price in accordance, Google has already introduced Pixelbook Go for the mid-range budget and Pixelbook 2 will aim for the high-end laptops. The next Chromebook in the form of Pixelbook 2 could be launched by Google in October 2020 at their annual event.
