The English musician and the lead singer of Blur, a British rock band, Damon Albarn staged a blend of many of his projects this Saturday as Albarn from British Virtual Band Gorillaz, welcomed the guitarist of Blur, Graham Coxon on to the stage to cover one of the hit songs of Blur “Song 2.”
The usual collaboration regarding the performance has marked for the first time that Albarn’s virtual band covered one of the greatest songs of Blur in a live show. The feat took place during the guest-filled Gorillaz Demon Dayz Festival in California’s Pico Rivera according to the reports of mxdwn.com – all that matters in entertainment.
Albarn took a melodica in one of his hands, and the company initially played the song “Song 2” in the authentic and quirky Gorillaz style right before Coxon walked right out to the stage unannounced with a guitar slung on his shoulder. Then Coxon immediately played the tradition version of the hit song of 1997 “Song 2” with the fans of Gorillaz yelling ‘Woo Hoo’ during the chorus.
The last performance of Coxon and Albarn was at The Magic Whip reunion show of Blur in November 2015.
The single-day Demon Dayz Festival also featured the Internet, Kilo Kish, Erykah Badu, DRAM, and Tony Allen, and the later artist also performed with Damon Albarn in the track of Good, the Bad and the Queen. During the feat many artists such are George Benson, De La Soul and Peven Everett were also enlisted to perform in the show.
George Benson, the Jazz Guitarist, also joined the Gorillaz to join them to play the song “Humility” which is a collaborative track from the latest album of the Gorillaz’ The Now Now.
Gorillaz has reportedly capped off the performance on 21st of October with around 30 tracks throughout the show.
