The student loan debt has hit a staggering $1.53 trillion in the second quarter of 2018. This gigantic burden is largely borne by the millennials and there is not a chance that the Trump government will forgive even a bit of it.
And Mick Mulvaney, the Director of the Office of Management and Budget clearly said that the government wants the people to repay their debts because that will be a “fair thing” to do.
“We would like people to repay their debts,” Director of the Office of Management and Budget Mick Mulvaney said. “We think that’s a fair thing to do.”
Ever since the federal government has become the largest originator of the student loan, the debts have skyrocketed.
“It’s like, look, if you’re going to borrow this money make sure you’re using it to get an education that can get you a job that helps you pay it back,”
Mulvaney said.
