Oprah Winfrey and Fantasia Barrino paid tribute to the late Tina Turner, the iconic Swiss singer, songwriter, and actress, during the Grammys 2024, which took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Oprah Winfrey recounted her memories of the late Tina Turner, who guided her with various advice on how to feel beautiful. She went on to describe how graceful the iconic vocalist was. Oprah stated that she was grateful to have a friend like Tina, who was also an inspiration to her.
“She used to say to me, ‘Oprah, you should dress up for dinner, even if no one else is there. Just so you feel beautiful to you. For yourself. Tina Turner was always a towering figure. She is our forever goddess of rock ‘n’ roll, who inspired millions, a moving symbol of grace and grit, soul and power. Our love and respect for Tina grew as we witnessed her bravely reclaim her freedom. From the moment I met Tina, first as a fan, then later blessed to become her friend, she was a special kind of role model … And as those big wheels of time keep on turning, Tina’s voice continues to speak to all of us.”
Oprah made way for The Color Purple’s star, Fantasia Barrino, to perform in honor of the late queen of Rock n’ Roll at the Grammys 2024. Surrounded by dancers and dressed in a beaming sequined and fringed ensemble, Fantasia did justice with her captivating rendition of Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary,” the 1970 super hit, that engaged the audience circle to join her tune.

Along with multi-instrumentalist Adam Blackstone, she not only commanded attention on stage but also shone throughout the song offstage, inspiring Dua Lipa to dance at some enjoyable parts. The crowd erupted into continuous cheers as the song rejuvenated them and gave them newfound energy.
