David Harbour
David Harbour portrays the role of Jack Salter, a rough-and-tumble former racecar driver who gives up on a rising star to become the head coach of Jann’s GT Academy. He said he was initially befuddled when he heard about the concept of the movie.
On working with director Neill Blomkamp, he told GamesRadar,
“When they said it was based on a video game, I thought, ‘What does that even mean?’ But they also said that Neill Blomkamp was directing, which made the project more alluring to me because he’s a true artist.”
Harbour is well-known for his role in Stranger Things as Hopper. He has also starred in movies such as Black Widow, Hellboy, Extraction, and Suicide Squad, among others.
Orlando Bloom
Orlando Bloom portrays Danny Moore, a Nissan motorsports marketing officer. Bloom’s character comes up with the concept of the GT Academy. He was pleasantly surprised by the amount of hard work and attention to detail that goes into the racing world. Bloom said to HeyUGuys,
“What I found fascinating in the making of the film was how much dedication and excellence the team members demonstrate- something we explore in the movie.”
Orlando Bloom is well-known for his portrayal of Legolas in the Lord of the Rings series, as well as his roles in Pirates of the Caribbean, Troy, Kingdom of Heaven, and Carnival Row.
Archie Madekwe
Archie Madekwe stars as Jann Mardenborough, a hopeful racecar driver who is granted the opportunity to accomplish his ambition through an unexpected hobby- his remarkable aptitude for Gran Turismo. He’s welcomed to the GT Academy, where he has the chance to prove his abilities on a genuine track.
Additionally, Madekwe has featured in films such as Teen Spirit, Midsommar, Voyagers, See, and Netflix’s Heart of Stone. He will also be seen in Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn.
Darren Barnet
Darren Barnet stars as Matty Davis, the self-assured American adversary of Jann in the GT Academy. Barnet has appeared in several movies and series such as American Pie Presents: Girls’ Rules, Love Hard, and Netflix’s Never Have I Ever.
Geri Halliwell
Geri Halliwell has taken on the role of Lesley Mardenborough, mother of Jann, who stands by his side in pursuit of his aspirations. Halliwell, renowned as Ginger Spice from the Spice Girls, has made occasional appearances on TV and in films such as Sex and the City, Fat Slags: The Film, and Crank: High Voltage. Additionally, she is wed to Christian Horner, head of the Red Bull Formula One team.
Djimon Hounsou
Djimon Hounsou stars as Steve Mardenborough, the skeptical father of Jann who does not think Jann will have a successful career in racing and wants him to settle for something more realistic.
Hounsou is an Oscar-nominated actor who has had roles in such films as Blood Diamond, Amistad, Gladiator, and In America, as well as parts in both MCU and DCEU.
Daniel Puig
Daniel Puig portrays Cai Mardenborough, Jann’s younger sibling in Gran Turismo. Puig has also featured in The System, Naomi, and The Bar.
Josha Stradowski
Josha Stradowski portrays the character of Nicholas Capa, a fierce competitor in the racing world who is not particularly impressed with Jann’s motor racing skills. Stradowski is widely renowned for his acting in High Flyers and The Wheel of Time but has also featured in various other projects such as Instinct, Men from Mars, and Spangas.
Thomas Kretschmann
Thomas Kretschmann stars as Patrice Capa, Nicholas’ dad in Gran Turismo. With a long list of credits to his name, Kretschmann has been seen in Stalingrad, The Pianist, Downfall, King Kong, and Valkyrie. He also portrays Baron Wolfgang von Strucker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Emelia Hartford
Emelia Hartford stars as Leah Vega in the Gran Turismo Academy. She and Jann become friends during the competition. Hartford is popular for her mechanical skill and her YouTube channel. The YouTuber has constructed a Corvette C8 which is one of the swiftest in the world. She has also been featured in a Netflix movie, A California Christmas: City Lights.
Marve Courtier-Lilley
Maeve Courtier-Lilley is featured as Audrey. She plays the love interest of Jann with whom she also shares her hometown. Maeve has been seen in Doctors, The Outpost, and Casualty.
