Predictions, Mockery, and Hope: The Buzz Around GTA 6
As the anticipation around the announcement for “Grand Theft Auto 6” (GTA 6) keeps mounting, the gaming community is awash with speculations, leaks, and even a good dose of humor.
Leakers, Predictions, and Online Trolls
Leakers, offering tidbits of information about the possible release dates, are a dime a dozen. Unfortunately, many of their claims have been proven incorrect, much to the amusement of the gaming community. A notable instance was when Twitter user IronManPS5_ boldly declared that GTA 6 would be unveiled in September 2023 and would hit the markets by Autumn 2024. Their assertion? The game would be exclusive to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X before making its way to PC in 2025. Given that Rockstar, the studio behind GTA, hasn’t made an official announcement yet, this ‘inside scoop’ seems far from the mark.
“The next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway at Rockstar North and will be officially announced in September 2023. Grand Theft Auto VI will launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in Fall 2024 before releasing on PC in 2025.”
Riding on such botched predictions, some GTA fans couldn’t help but jest. A reddit post by u/Quick_Difference5671 humorously commented, “This aged like fine wine.” Joining in the fun, one user quipped, “GTA 6 will be announced on a day in the future.” Another made a playful nod to the demise of a once-popular gaming convention, saying, “They’re announcing it at E3.”

The Dark Side of Leaks: Death Threats and Distress
But it’s not all fun and games. Misinformation comes at a price. Another GTA ‘insider,’ MarxxChris, shared a more sobering side of the story. The backlash he received for spreading inaccurate information escalated to the point where he received death threats.
“I am absolutely and deeply appalled by the level of criticism and hostility I have faced in response to the leaks. It is beyond disheartening to witness the presence of death threats, which are utterly inexcusable and deeply distressing.”
The threats have pushed MarxxChris to privatize his Twitter account. He further expressed his shock, emphasizing the concerning behavior of certain segments of the gaming community.
“This situation raises serious questions about the moral compass of those who resort to such behaviour.”
The Moon, Hints, and Ever-High Hopes
GTA fans are nothing if not resourceful. From speculating based on potential hints to analyzing failed leaks and even turning to the Moon for predictive clues, the excitement around the game is palpable. Given the franchise’s rich history and enormous fan base, it’s clear why the community is on tenterhooks.
For now, all eyes remain on Rockstar, with hopes riding high for an official word on the release of GTA 6. The sheer energy and reactions, whether positive or negative, only underline the unwavering passion and commitment of fans to this beloved franchise.
