The retired optometrist who unsuccessfully sued Gwyneth Paltrow over a snow accident admitted his mistake on Thursday.
In 2016, Terry Sanderson claimed that the celebrity and business tycoon struck him while skiing at Utah’s posh Deer Valley Resort. He claimed that the alleged hit-and-run severely injured him, and his original $3 million claim for damages was later reduced to $300,000. Sanderson actually slid into Paltrow, according to Paltrow.
Gwyneth Paltrow in Courtroom
A Park City jury agreed with Gwyneth Paltrow this week after she countersued Sanderson for just $1 and the cost of her legal representation.
Sanderson expressed his disappointment in the decision to reporters after the trial. He had a clear response for reporters who questioned whether the highly publicized litigation, which involved examination of his medical background and media mockery, was “worth it”: “Absolutely not.”
I made fun of matchmaking websites, right? In reference to previous remarks he made about how the trial would make online dating challenging, Sanderson said. I feel like I’ll spend all of my time online.
He also rejected Billy Bush, the host of “Extra,” when he suggested going on a reality program.
Sanderson answered, “I don’t need that”
At the end of the trial, when Paltrow left the courtroom and whispered, “I wish you well,” he did compliment her for being “very kind.”
