Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s family and friends have expressed their concerns about her impending release from prison.
In November 2018, the 31-year-old was sentenced to ten years in prison after her late mother, Dee Dee Blanchard’s lifeless body was found at their home in 2015.
Gypsy Rose, whose mother stated that she had physical and mental health problems, was missing and believed kidnapped at the time because all of her wheelchairs, medicines, and equipment were still on their property.
When police found her in Wisconsin, they noted she didn’t have any of the lifelong psychological problems Dee Dee had described.

Following an immediate police investigation, it was established that Gypsy Rose had persuaded her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, to murder her mother at their house after she had suffered years of physical and mental trauma.
According to The Sun, officials discovered that Gypsy Rose was engaged in the murder of Dee Dee because she brought duct tape, gloves, and a knife for Godejohn to use.
She pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, while her ex-boyfriend, whom she met online, was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in jail with no chance of parole.
Now that she is available for parole by the end of this year, the inmate may be released early. Her family friends, Fancy Marcelli and Titania Gisclair expressed concern about Gypsy Rose’s imminent release to In Touch.
Marcelli stated in 2021, “Gypsy has served 80 percent of her sentence.” She’s scheduled to be released in 2025, but I’m concerned about what will happen to her.
“She does not want the counseling that the prison provides.” She does not believe she requires assistance. “She requires better people around her,” she admitted.
Marcelli stated that Gypsy Rose “needs to change her behavior” before being released from prison, but she is “not open to it” because she is “still putting on a show for the parole board.”
Her equally worried friend also expressed her concerns, telling the outlet that she is concerned that Gypsy Rose’s mental state from previous experiences will manifest once she is back in the real world.
“I recognized Dee Dee. “She was an expert manipulator,” Gisclair said. “I was present. Gypsy was always diagnosed with a variety of physical conditions. I never had any cause to doubt it. Now that I look back, I can plainly see all of Dee Dee’s lies.
“Dee Dee abused Gypsy.” Gypsy only knows how to swindle because her mother taught her.” “We all want the best for Gypsy, but the problem is that Gypsy doesn’t believe she has one.” She doesn’t believe she experienced any childhood stress.”
Gypsy Rose “learned a lot of bad stuff” from her late mother, Gisclair said, and she’s in jail today because she’s “responsible for her actions,” adding, “We just want Gypsy to have as normal a life as possible when she’s released.” And that will require a significant amount of effort.”
The couple also told the magazine that several men wanted to be in a relationship with Gypsy Rose but were wary of exploiting her fame.
