Queen Elizabeth II will be celebrating her 70th year on the throne. The festivities for the Platinum Jubilee are set to last all weekend through June 5th, 2022.
England is celebrating a big event for the Queen and her family. The weekend kicks off with Trooping the Colour.
The Queen and her family usually join her on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. The Queen has changed who will join her on the balcony. Only working royals are invited to join her. Prince Andrew and Prince Harry are not included.
The Queen invited Harry and Meghan to join her for the Platinum Jubilee even though they won’t be on the balcony. Prince Harry was concerned about the safety of his family when he traveled to England. His children visited England after moving to the United States.
With less than a month before the festivities are set to begin, we now have an official answer to the question of whether or not Harry and Meghan will attend. The Platinum Jubilee with the Queen will be celebrated by Harry, Meghan, and their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
In the video below, you can see more about the recent news from the Duke and the Duchess, as well as thoughts about why they are not going to join the Queen on the balcony.
Do you think the decision to join the Platinum Jubilee celebration means that Harry and Meghan have reconciled with the royal family? Do you think the family will be able to put their differences aside to celebrate the Queen?
