White House Plumbers, a limited series by HBO debuted this week and has caught the eye of many. White House Plumbers was a Special Investigation Unit formed during Nixon’s presidency to stop leaks of classified information.
The unit’s most notorious action was the Watergate Scandal, which involved breaking into people’s offices and rooting through their papers. The HBO limited series reimagines this scandal from the perspective of two of Nixon’s most trusted men, E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy, who were part of the White House Plumbers. The show stars Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux in leading roles.
White House Plumbers will run for 5 episodes, and Kiernan Shipka, Domhnall Gleeson, and Lena Headey are among the other stars. Based on the 2007 book “Integrity”, the show takes a satirical approach to the Watergate scandal, depicting the special investing unit’s attempts to stop leaks of classified information through methods that often involved breaking into offices. The show promises to bring a few laughs while also showcasing the Nixon administration’s bungled attempt at re-election.
Despite its limited number of episodes, it covers a significant amount of historical events, including the Pentagon Papers and the aftermath of Watergate.
Will there be White House Plumbers Season 2?
Since this is a limited series by HBO. There will not be a second season. Limited Series always have a fixed number of episodes with a defined beginning, middle, and ending. The show has been received quite positively by the audience, so HBO might look into producing more such shows. Right now, there is no official news regarding a future show or an extension for the limited series.
