In a candid conversation with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager on the “Today” show, Millie shed light on whether the rock legend would be belting out hits on her wedding day. “I think the man needs a break, he doesn’t stop,” she remarked, highlighting Jon’s busy schedule filled with tennis, singing lessons, and other engagements.
Drawing a parallel, she said, “I feel like that’s asking me to go and like, do a full-on play for everyone.” Millie was clear in her belief that Jon deserves to enjoy the wedding festivities without any professional pressure.
It’s not an entirely alien concept for Jon to perform at weddings. Back in 2016, he surprised an audience by performing “Livin’ on a Prayer” during a wedding he attended. But as the “Enola Holmes” actress pointed out, he’ll be attending her wedding strictly as a guest.
Wedding Planning: A Seamless Affair
Breezing through the wedding preparations, Millie described the process as anything but taxing. A major contributing factor? Jake’s involvement. “Jake is very involved, he’s very helpful during the whole process,” Millie shared. The solidarity between the couple is evident as she continued, “I’ve never felt alone in it, which is very nice.”
Discussing her constant quest for feedback, she added, “I’m always like, ‘Is this a good idea, is this a good idea?’ But ultimately, it’s just a very intimate day for the both of us and we’re both very excited.”

The engagement itself holds a special place in Millie’s heart. In a touching gesture, Jake proposed to Millie with a ring that originally belonged to her mother, Kelly. This heirloom choice made the proposal even more personal. Millie recalled, “I’ve always loved that ring, it’s always stuck out to me. I love that I can always keep a piece of my mum with me.”
Their love story has been nothing short of a fairy tale. Describing the undeniable chemistry she felt when she first met Jake, Millie nostalgically shared, “After we met we knew we never wanted to leave each other’s side. You can’t pinpoint why, it’s just the feeling of knowing that that’s the person you want to spend the rest of your time with.”
