Consultant Cardiologist Professor Simon Redwood of London Bridge Hospital has said that there are a number of ways for differentiating these kinds of chest pain. He explained,
The main symptom is chest pain – usually in the center of the chest but it can radiate to the jaw, arms or back.
The chest pain will not be alone in case of a heart attack. It will be accompanied with sweating, vomiting at times, shortness of breath and feeling sick. However, in diabetic patients, it may not have clear symptoms. The chest pain during a heart attack is a squeezing feeling.
Causes of Heart Attack
Heart attack is more common among women and old people. Some causes of a heart attack include smoking, high blood pressure, obesity, and high cholesterol.
Ways to prevent Heart Attack
Consuming a healthy diet and avoiding smoking are the two best ways to prevent a heart attack. Professor Redwood recommended that one’s diet must consist of fewer animal fats meat, dairy produce and more of fiber, vegetable, and fruits.
