Early Life
Heather Paige (Kent) Dubrow was born in the Bronx on January 5, 1969, and raised in Chappaqua, New York. She is a fifth-generation American with Jewish ancestry from Germany, Hungary, and Poland.
She participated in beauty pageants as a teenager and won Miss Greater Syracuse in 1989. The following year, she took home the title of Miss Congeniality at the Miss New York State Pageant. In 1990, she received a BFA in Musical Theatre from Syracuse University.
Career
Heather Dubrow worked as a performer, singing at the Golden Horseshoe Jamboree at Disneyland, when she initially relocated to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.
She met a guy there and formed a 14-piece band and went on tour. As the band’s lead singer, Heather toured with them for four years, opening for Dana Carvey, Mel Torme, and Manhattan Transfer.
She played Lydia DeLucca in the CBS television drama That’s Life from 2000 to 2002. In the second season, she also sang “Learnin’ As I Go,” the show’s theme song.
