English film director, Guy Ritchie and iconic singer-songwriter Madonna’s relationship was one which was full of ups and downs. The Hollywood couple got divorced within 8 years of their marriage. However, Madonna’s recent hospital scare has deeply affected Ritchie who is very concerned for the 64-year-old star.
What Happened To Madonna?
The legendary “Material Girl” of the Hollywood music industry recently faced a health scare in June 2023 ahead of her 12th concert tour. Madonna announced her concert tour earlier this year in January and was supposed to kick off the first leg of the tour from July 15, 2023, onwards.
However, a week after Madonna was hospitalised due to a serious bacterial infection, her media rep shared the news with the public announcing the cancellation of her tour. Her manager Guy Oseary shared an Instagram post updating the public on the singer’s health.
“On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several-day stay in the ICU. Her health is improving; however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected. At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour. We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.”
A source told Page Six that the 64-year-old singer was rushed to the hospital in an unresponsive state and had to be intubated for one night. Naturally, there was an outpour of love and prayers sent Madonna’s way by fans, well-wishers, and industry friends.
After returning home from the hospital, Madonna took to her social media to express her gratitude to her fans and friends for all the love and prayers.

Guy Ritchie Expressed His Concern For Madonna
Despite having one of the bitterest divorces in Hollywood, Madonna’s health scare seemed to have softened Guy Ritchie’s heart. The couple have been quite openly resentful about their marriage and of each other in the past. In 2012, Madonna even released an album titled MDNA which had songs about their divorce. Ritchie and Madonna tied the knot on December 22, 2000, at the Skibo Castle in Scotland. The couple share a son together, Rocco Ritchie who was born on August 11, 2000.
After 8 years of marriage, Guy Ritchie filed for divorce citing Madonna’s unreasonable behavior. Apart from their public display of disdain for each other, the couple also fought for their son Rocco’s custody in court. They eventually decided to resolve the custody battle outside the court and Rocco went on to live with his father in London.
According to Closer Online, a source has stated that Guy Ritchie was very concerned for Madonna after hearing the news of her health.
“Guy was totally shocked by this news, he reached out immediately and said he wanted to help however he possibly could. He’s offered to drop everything and fly out to New York if she needs him, which Madonna really appreciates even though she’s surrounded by loved ones and has more practical support right now than she knows what to do with.”
Madonna has five other kids from her other marriage and relationships and Guy Ritchie is “proud” that his son has “teamed up with his siblings” to look after their mother.
“Guy’s not taking no for an answer though – he’s proud that their son Rocco has teamed up with his siblings to support their mum, and will help in any way he can.”
The source also stated that Guy Ritchie has a lot of respect for his ex-wife despite all their differences.
“for all of their differences she’s still the mother of his first-born child… and he truly respects her.”
