If we had a time machine, we would visit the future. Right? Well, it looks like it is not all that beautiful. The world, as we see it today, is entirely dependent on technology. This is something that the previous scientists feared. One such notable name is Albert Einstein. He said, “I fear the day when the technology overlaps with our humanity. The world will only have a generation of idiots.” Something similar has been revealed by the researchers at TollFree Forwarding. They have rolled out some computer-generated images showing what they think human evolution could be by the year 3000.
No, it’s not what you think. We will not evolve into superbeings or have strikingly beautiful features. The study shows that we will have deformed humans whose evolution will entirely revolve around technology. The images show that the humans will have hunched backs, clawed hands, and second eyelids. That is because of our growing obsession with technology. The researchers threw all these features into one artificial being called Mindy. She represents every human being in the year 3000 who is entirely dependent on the tech they have. While it is true we are currently obsessing over our devices, you might want to look away from them every now and then. Well, have a look at these images if you doubt this statement.
Human evolution will be based on technology
Dr. Nikola Djordjevic at Med Alert Help states that the ‘claw’ hands are only because of the constant use of Internet. She starts, “A few years ago, mobile internet usage surpassed desktop, and we now hold the internet in our hands. However, the way we hold our phones can cause strain in certain points of contact – causing ‘text claw,’ which is known as cubital tunnel syndrome.” However, there are other symptoms. Another driving factor could be the 90-degree elbow. Moreover, we could all have a hunched back which is terrible as it can have a direct impact on the brain.
The study says there are “growing concerns that radiofrequency radiation emitted from smartphones could cause serious health implications when exposed to the brain.” One more factor that is the most disturbing of all is the second eyelid. The study further says, “Mindy’s final change is possibly her most outlandish. One area we’re yet to touch on is the eyes. Research into screens causing headaches, eye strain, and even blindness is well established, but how does Mindy’s body look to combat this?”
Claw hands and hunched backs
Kasun Ratnayake from the University of Toledo also weighs in. Kasun says, “Humans may develop a larger inner eyelid to prevent exposure to excessive light, or the lens of the eye may be evolutionary developed such that it blocks incoming blue light but not other high wavelength lights like green, yellow or red.” This is a disturbing claim as the effect of the Internet and social media is already visible. Many teenagers who spend a questionable amount of time on their devices are prone to anxiety and witness an overall decrease in their well-being.
Economist Ricardo Amorim says, “The company Toll Free Forwarding talked to scientists about their expectations and developed a 3D simulation of what human beings could become in the 3000s. An alert to the excessive use of electronic devices and current habits.” So now the burning question is – Where are we headed? In this day and age where we have everything readily available to our comfort – Is it all worth it? These images surely spark a debate. Moreover, they give us something to think about. It looks like the lengthy process of change by which people originated from apelike ancestors is not as fruitful as we thought. Artificial Technology further shows humans transforming into pure technology, i.e., wires!
