Leva Bonaparte Responds to Thomas Ravenel’s “Boring” Comment
Leva Bonaparte, a star of the hit Bravo show “Southern Charm,” recently addressed former castmate Thomas Ravenel’s remark about her being the “most boring” person on the show. Considering Ravenel’s history, Bonaparte has taken his words as more of a commendation than an insult.
Bonaparte’s Take on Ravenel’s Remarks
Bonaparte, aged 44, commented on the situation with Page Six, stating, “I was taught to respect my elders and like I just don’t really have that much to say. I mean he’s a 60-year-old man, I’m glad he’s tuning in.” She went on to add, “I don’t know what the deal is. I don’t know if he’s just bored? I find that it’s a compliment if Thomas finds me boring, because I wouldn’t really wanna be the type of person he finds interesting or fun.”
Given Ravenel’s exit from the show in 2018, following his guilty plea to assault and battery, Bonaparte finds amusement in the fact that he still keeps up with the series. She humorously remarked, “It’s funny that he still tunes in” even after his “ship has sailed.”
Ravenel’s Controversial History
Ravenel, 61, has been embroiled in more than a few controversies over the years. Beyond his exit from the show, he faced legal troubles in 2007 when he was sentenced to ten months in federal prison after pleading guilty to federal cocaine distribution charges. His relationships haven’t been without scrutiny either. His rollercoaster relationship with ex-cast member Kathryn Dennis, the mother of his children, played out onscreen, leading to a well-documented custody dispute. Reports suggest he has since been granted primary custody.
Moreover, in 2019, Ravenel confessed to attempting to kiss his children’s former nanny, adding another instance to his list of questionable actions.
Bonaparte’s Stance on Ravenel’s Behavior
Highlighting the peculiarity of Ravenel’s comments, Bonaparte acknowledged the strangeness of his penchant to “keep going after women.” Without going into the nitty-gritty of his controversial past, she subtly hinted at it, stating under Page Six’s Instagram post about Ravenel’s comments, “No point in listing what made him great TV, that would be a little much.”
While Bonaparte did not go into specifics, her comments and the past events surrounding Ravenel give viewers and fans of “Southern Charm” a clear picture of the ongoing dynamics and disputes between the cast members, past and present.
