Prince Harry’s Spare claimed that he found magic mushrooms at Courtney Cox’s house while he was partying at Friends star California home. In his book, the Duke of Sussex described meeting Courtney and eating magic mushrooms which he and his friends had found in the actress’ refrigerator.
Courtney Cox Explains Prince Harry’s Magic Mushroom Experience
While speaking with Variety about her career and Friends, Cox revealed her side of Harry’s story that he stated in his book Spare. Prince Harry released his book, Spare earlier this year, in January 2023. In his book, he talked about his personal life and how he and his friends once crashed at Courtney’s Los Angeles home while she was out of town. He wrote-
“Courtney Cox was traveling, on a job, and didn’t mind if we crashed at her place. As a Friends fanatic, the idea of crashing at Monica’s house was highly appealing. And amusing.”
However, he later revealed that Courtney Cox had shown up at her house and Harry was “very confused” and nervous that they would have to leave. But being the Scream actor assured Harry that there was “plenty of room” for him and his friends to stay over which soon resulted in a house party. The Duke of Sussex then admitted to having a hallucinogenic experience due to the consumption of magic mushrooms that he found in Courtney Cox’s refrigerator-
“I walked over to the fridge to grab a soda. The fridge’s door was ajar and I spotted a huge box of black diamond mushroom chocolates. Someone behind me said they were for everybody.”
“I remember my mate and I grabbed several, gobbled them, washed them down with tequila.”
However, Cox told Variety that she did not know about the mushrooms and if there were, she wasn’t the one handing it to people at the party. She said-
“I haven’t read the book. I do want to hear it, because I’ve heard it’s really entertaining. But yes, it’s gotten back to me about it. I’m not saying there were mushrooms! I definitely wasn’t passing them out.”
She further stated that Harry is a “nice person” and he ended up spending a couple of days at her Los Angeles house.
“He did stay here for a couple of days — probably two or three. He’s a really nice person,”
Prince Harry Revealed He Had A Crush On Courtney Cox’s Monica
Prince Harry talked about his personal life, drug use, and partying in Hollywood. While he was staying over at Cox’s LA house, he admitted in his book that he was trying to muster up the courage to tell Friends‘ Monica that he had a crush on her.
“I was still confused because… she was Monica. And I was a Chandler. I wondered if I’d ever work up the courage to tell her. Was there enough tequila in California to get me that brave?”
Harry also admitted to watching Friends while doing his house chores and laundry, just like the rest of us. He also mentioned the specific episode he’d watch while folding his laundry.
“Besides my own laundry (often laid out to dry on my radiators) I did my own chores, my own cooking, my own food shopping.”
“Many evenings I’d think: if only they could see me now. Then I’d go back to folding my underwear and watching ‘The One with Monica and Chandler’s Wedding.’”
Although the Duke of Sussex didn’t his question in the book, he certainly left this secret for Cox to find in his book. We wonder what Courtney Cox’s reaction would be to finding out that Prince Harry had a crush on her.
