Idris Elba recently announced that he is extremely excited to have the crime show ‘Luther’ turned into a movie version as well.
The successful detective has made an iconic comeback to the television screens after a gap of three-year, with the season 5 of the show looking incredible like the remaining four seasons.

Elba has been wearing his popular grey overcoat in the cold dark streets of London and looking for all the bad guys since nearly a decade now. As such, it is pretty to say that the time to have the series turned into a movie is just about right.
Elba confirmed that writer-creator of the show, Neil Cross is presently on penning down a feature-length Luther version which will comprise of more Volvos, more of murder, more of serious Luther. The main idea of having a movie version of the show is to take the plot to more people, even international perhaps, said Elba during the launch of the show’s fifth season in London.

Before you start wondering too much about not seeing more of Luther after the movie- don’t, as Elba also confirmed the media that he is excited to work on more Luther seasons of the popular crime series. However, you will probably have to wait for the season 6 of the show to be released, as Elba believes that the series will not work as expected if a season was aired each year.
Information regarding the plot of the show’s fifth season has not been revealed and kept a secret. But, the information that we do know is that you will get to see Alice as Ruth Wilson back in the show. Moreover, you will also see a new cast member, Wunmi Mosaku who will play the role of Catherine Halliday.

However, you will not have to wait for the season 5 of the show as the first episode will air on January 1 on BBC at 9 pm.
