Viewers of the film Black Adam with keen eyes could notice Pierce Brosnan’s homage to his wife, Keely Shaye Smith.
The 69-year-old actor, who plays superhero and sorcerer Dr. Fate in the DC world, disclosed that he wore his real wedding ring and another accessory given to him by Smith while filming Black Adam at the movie’s New York City premiere on Wednesday.
This watch, which Keely bought for me many years ago and has the message “Time flies on love’s wings,” is our wedding band. Brosnan spoke with Rachel Smith of ET. “I made a choice to wear it for this persona. It appeared to be fitting.”
About Dr. Fate, he remarked, “The man has traveled through all of human history. He is among the DC comic book industry’s most potent sorcerers. I’ve heard that he did have a wife named Enza who was even more strong than him.”
I love those emblems, that he took those with him into the superpower, superhero domain, Smith told ET, beaming at her particular tribute.
In response to the question of who would play Enza in upcoming movies, Brosnan emphasized that he “had no idea.”
In terms of their real-life relationship, Brosnan and Smith, 59, originally connected in Mexico in 1994. They later got hitched at Ballintubber Abbey in Ireland in 2001. Together, they have two sons: Dylan, age 25, and Paris, age 21.
They proved Wednesday night that they are still a powerful pair after 20 years when they walked the red carpet.
On October 21, Black Adam, which also stars Dwayne Johnson, Viola Davis, Noah Centineo, and Aldis Hodge, will be released in theatres.
