In 2017, Apple improvised the charging capabilities of iPhones. However, it still provides slow 5W charger even with the most expensive iPhones. The users are unable to take advantage of the fast charging capabilities of iPhone till the time they purchase separate power brick with a USB-C to Lightning cable. If you any hope that Apple will provide a different charger with iPhone 11, then you will be totally disappointed.
Users will hate the iPhone 11 charger
The users were hoping that Apple would switch to USB-C from Lightning this year. This came after Mark Gurman, a Bloomberg contributor, said that Apple was testing iPhone 11 versions with a USB-C port. But, according to Japanese blog MacOtakara, the same 5W charger along with the USB-A Lightning cable will be shipped with iPhone 11.
MacOtakara has been often correct when it comes to Apple. Its connections with Asian supply chain of Apple is quite reliable. Earlier also, it made the right predictions about 2018 iPad Pro models. Several Smartphone vendors have already shifted to USB-C, while Apple still uses it for Macs.
Apple generates good additional revenue from accessories and switching to USB-C port would mean risking it. Apple would want to make maximum profit on every unit sold due to slowing down of iPhone sales. So, don’t expect it to sell a different charger with iPhone 11.
