Episode number for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 was announced recently, and fans are disappointed. The anime was supposed to have 24 episodes, but the recent announcement from the official Jujutsu Kaisen Twitter account announced the number of episodes is going to be 23.
Read on to find out what the fans have to say about the announcement.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 anime episode number
The first season of Jujutsu Kaisen season 1 had 24 episodes and aired from October 3, 2020 – March 27, 2021, and was a massive hit among anime fans. The announcement of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 was inevitable, given its immense popularity. Many fans were expecting this season to have 24 episodes as well. However, many were disappointed as season 2 was announced to only have 23 episodes.
A Twitter user stated, “It’s not enough I need more 😭”. Many manga fans are also expecting some of their favorite characters to be animated and believe that 23 episodes might not be enough to get their favorite characters and arcs on screen.

Jujutsu Kaisen manga is way ahead of the anime which means there are more characters and plots to be animated. Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 is going to be about Gojo Satoru’s time as a student at the Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College along with his fellow classmates Geto Suguru and Riko Amanai.
Fans were also disappointed that the Demon Slayer season 3 anime barely had 11 episodes and ended too soon. At least now, many fans were happy that the Jujutsu Kaisen anime unlike the other anime, will have more than 20+ episodes per season. Enough content will be animated and this means more screen time for their favorite characters and hopefully be enough to satisfy the majority of the JJK fans.
JJK listed as having 23 episodes for season 2? Thank you! 🙌
It's nice to have a show that doesn't hold to the 10-12 episode mantra

What manga arcs will Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 adopt?
As stated before, the anime will focus on two arcs from the manga, Gojo Satoru’s Past Arc and Shibuya Incident Arc. The first part will focus on Gojo and his time at the Tokyo Jujutsu High along with his classmates. It will also focus on the incident that led Gojo and Geto to split their paths and go their separate ways.
The second arc will focus on the present and a particular incident at Shibuya caused by Geto. The Shibuya Incident arc is considered to be one of the best arcs by manga readers, and Jujutsu Kaisen fans are very excited to see this arc animated. Many are still dreading that there will only be one episode per week and the wait is going to be torturous.
Good gosh, I can’t IMAGINE having to wait on chapters for the Shibuya Arc in JJK. I’m so glad I came much later, so I could read it all and not wait because every single panel (I’m not kidding) had me on the edge of my seat. There was no relaxing during that arc at all.
