Atlanta Falcons coach, Arthur Smith shocked fans and the media when he revealed a new look on the opening day of training camp. The Falcons’ head coach was serious about his new facial hair look and believes the change is going to reflect in the upcoming season.
Arthur Smith Makes A Lifestyle Change
As the NFL training camp season kicks off, league coaches are ready with their strategies to get their players all set for the upcoming season. However, Falcons head coach Arthur Smith made a “lifestyle change” for himself before getting the players back on the field. Smith was seen in an all-new look sporting a moustache at the press conference. When asked about his new look, Smith replied,
“It’s a lifestyle change. It’s not for everybody.”

While the response got a laugh from those around, Smith seemed quite serious about the new change. Nevertheless, the internet wasted no time in making Arthur Smith’s moustache a topic of discussion. The r/falcons subreddit was full of fans voicing their opinions about the head coach’s new look. Some even compared him to Dr Phil and Ted Lasso.
Nonetheless, Smith is certainly unbothered by all the internet fuss people wish to make about his appearance. He made it quite clear that he is aware that the change is not for everyone. So, Atlanta Falcons can surely expect a new change in their team this season. Whether or not Smith will be successful in bringing a significant change is something we will have to wait and see.
Smith is under pressure to put an end to the Falcons’ five-year losing streak, which has included two consecutive 7-10 finishes in his first two seasons. After making it to the Super Bowl in 2016 and finishing with a record of 10-6 in 2017, Atlanta has struggled to maintain a winning record. It appears that the Falcons have invested roughly $140 million in free agency to improve their defence. It’s possible that they may have as many as six new starters on defence for their season opener against Carolina on September 10th.
Taylor Heinicke, who used to be a starting quarterback for Washington, has signed a two-year contract with Atlanta to serve as a backup for Ridder. On Tuesday, the Falcons revealed that their new defensive veteran, Calais Campbell, will begin the camp on the non-football injury list. However, he can be activated at any time and Arthur Smith affirmed that he will be back on the field soon.
“Nothing we’re concerned about long-term. It won’t affect his performance, but he’ll be starting a little later than the rest of the guys.”
