Published in 2015, Jackie Chan’s book, Never Grow Up, has now hit the markets with the English-translated version. The book gives shocking insights to Chan’s earlier life. He reveals that he has been into gambling, drinking and participated in prostitution as well. He also talks about the troubles of his married life in this book.
Referring to his past mistakes, the actor chooses to open up rather than shying away from reality. In an excerpt, he writes how being a daily drinker started to hamper hi professionalism. He wasn’t handling his success very well and was drunk driving all day.

Having spent a lot on booze, gambling and prostitution, he specifically mentions one particular girl known only as ‘Number Nine’. He was a regular client to this girl. Chan also talks about cheating on his wife, Joan Lin, with beauty queen Elaine Ng Yi Lei, who was Miss Asia in 1990.
Chan has a daughter Etta Ng who was born out of wedlock and a son Jaycee. He also accepts that he hasn’t been a good dad. Talking about an instance, he mentions his regrets for hitting his son when he angered him by throwing some keys on the floor. Jaycee and his mother really got scared that day, the Rush Hour actor says.
The actor has been heavily praised for being so open about his life and confronting his issues. Although the book is co-authored it seems as if Chan was speaking his heart out directly.
