Jada Pinkett Smith has spoken out following the cancellation of Red Table Talk.
The 51-year-old Nutty Professor star is married to Oscar-winner Will Smith.
Last year, the Smiths were involved in one of the most stunning incidents of the year, when the King Richard star smacked Chris Rock for making a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s buzzcut hairstyle.
And now the actress has received some disappointing news about her hit show.
Jada Pinkett Smith presented Red Table Talk on Facebook Watch with her daughter Willow, 22, and her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, 69.
It follows the three women as they explore current global issues.
The show began streaming in 2016 and has been enormously successful for Meta, with over 11 million followers on the page.
It also features a thriving discussion forum with over 600,000 members.
The Estefans, starring Gloria Estefan, her daughter Emily, and her niece Lili, is a spinoff of Red Table Talk.
It has also received a Daytime Emmy Award.
However, according to Variety, Meta is discontinuing all of its Facebook Watch shows, with Red Table Talk being the last to go.
The program’s official Instagram page issued a comment shortly after the termination was announced.
It reads: “We are so grateful to have had such a beautiful partnership with Facebook Watch and we are sorry to see the entire team disband. We wish everyone well in their new journeys to come.
“We at Red Table are in talks of finding a new home and we’ll see you soon.”
The show was created by Jada Pinkett Smith’s production firm, Westbrook Studios, which she co-founded with her husband.
The show is currently looking for a new distributor to air it.
