Jamie Foxx is still in the hospital, a week after suffering a medical complication.
People confirmed on Monday that the 55-year-old star is still getting checked out at a hospital in Georgia.
Jamie Foxx got sick on Tuesday in Atlanta, where he and Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close are filming the Netflix movie Back in Action.
His family has told him about his health scare, but they haven’t said much more.
On Friday, however, a source told People that Foxx was getting better.
Fans first heard about the health scare on Wednesday, when the actor’s daughter, Corinne Foxx, posted a serious message on social media.
The 29-year-old actress wrote,
We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday.
Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,
she continued.
We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time,
the statement concluded.
Sources told TMZ at the time that Jamie Foxx’s unnamed condition was serious enough that he needed to go to the hospital.
There aren’t many details out there, and it’s not clear what the comedian may have been feeling.
CNN said on Friday that tests were being done to find out what caused his health scare and that he was being watched at the hospital.
They are running tests and still trying to figure out what exactly happened,
an insider said.
Even though his health is getting better, no one knows when he will be able to leave the hospital or go back to work.
The film has been promoted as his co-star Cameron Diaz’s comeback to acting since he helped get her out of retirement. However, after a series of mishaps on the set, she reportedly plans to quit acting for good.
The movie also has Glenn Close in it.
The actor’s stay in the hospital was so serious that his family traveled from out of town to be with him.
One source told TMZ,
He’s communicating now, and that’s good news.
This may mean that he was unable to talk at one point because of a medical emergency.
Jamie Foxx’s ex-girlfriend, Connie Kline, is also the mother of his daughter, Corinne. He also has a 13-year-old daughter with Kristin Grannis. Her name is Annalise.
The Baby Driver actor’s most recent film shoot in Atlanta seems to have been a surprising source of stress for both him and his coworkers.
Last month, it was said that Jamie Foxx “totally lost it” while making the movie in the UK, which led to the firing of several people.
He is said to have fired an executive producer, two directors, and even his own driver from the project.
The Sun says that an employee was fired because they tried to scam the actor out of £33,000 in cash. This was supposedly about the sale of a Rolex watch.
There was even more drama when it came out that filming had to stop last month because an unexploded WWII bomb was found on the set in London, right before two big action scenes were to be shot.
