Legendary actresses Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Rita Moreno, and Sally Field looked amazing in a recent group photo taken at the premiere of their new movie, “80 For Brady,” at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in California last week.
Jane Fonda, who is 85 years old, said she was in remission from cancer and could stop chemo after six months of treatment. This event comes after she made this announcement.
The actress wrote at the time on Instagram:
Last week I was told by my oncologist that my cancer is in remission and I can discontinue chemo. I am feeling so blessed, so fortunate. I thank all of you who prayed and sent good thoughts my way.
I am confident that it played a role in the good news. I’m especially happy because while my first 4 chemo treatments were rather easy for me, only a few days of being tired, the last chemo session was rough and lasted 2 weeks making it hard to accomplish much of anything,
she added.
At the premiere, most of the actresses wore black, but Moreno stood out by wearing a beautiful red shawl with a brooch and a stylish leopard print skirt.
80 for Brady is a comedy about four best friends who go on a crazy trip to see their favorite football player, Tom Brady, play in the 2017 Super Bowl. At the premiere, the actresses also talked about the movie. Jane Fonda said that meeting Brady in person made her “weak” in the knees.
Jane Fonda said:
He was kind and humble, which is hard to believe considering how brilliant he is at what he does, but it’s true. He was also sweet and polite.
My knees actually got weak when he walked into my trailer. I’m in awe of that kind of skill. When somebody is the best in the world at what they do, you have to honor that and respect it. I was just awestruck.
Tomlin agreed, adding:
Well, it was pretty fabulous. He’s a good actor. He’s very personable and unassuming […] Just looking at his face and his eyes and watching him listen to me as an actor trying to reciprocate in the same way. I felt like I was that [real-life] woman from Boston who was in her 80s. I felt, in fact, as though he was my son when I had to do this speech with him.”
Last year, Brady praised the women for their roles in the movie, which was his first feature film as a producer. He said:
We found the most amazing actresses. Lily, Jane, Rita, and Sally. They brought it all to life. At the end of the day, watching them act and watching them perform was so cool.
The US premiere of “80 Days” for Brady is set for January 28, 2023.
