Jay Ellis Jr., also known as Wendell Ramone Ellis Jr., was born on December 27, 1981. His father was employed by the Air Force and his mother, Paula Bryant-Ellis, held a position as a finance executive.
He grew up as an only child and attended a total of 12 different schools in just 13 years. Eventually, he went on to study at Concordia University in Oregon, where he was a member of the basketball team.
During the notorious “Jail Blazers” era, Ellis held a position as a public relations intern for the Portland Trail Blazers.
