After more than ten years, Jenelle Evans’ mother, Barbara Evans, finally gave her full custody of her 13-year-old son, Jace.
On March 19, the Teen Mom 2 star shared the good news about her journey to becoming a parent.
#MyHappyEnding, ITS OFFICIAL! Thanks, everyone for the support! Words cant describe how happy i truly am. Our family is complete now! Thank you, mom,
she wrote as a caption on her emotional video on Instagram.
According to a source,
The North Carolina native — who welcomed Jace, now 13, in 2009 with ex-boyfriend Andrew Lewis — had signed over custody of her eldest son to Barbara just shortly after his birth.
The former MTV star lost legal custody of her first child because she was addicted to drugs and had been arrested a few times when she was a teen.
Evans said that she and her mother mutually decided that the custody of Jace would be regained until the mother-daughter duo rebuilt their relationship.
My mom and I decided together to grant full custody back to me because we want to build our relationship back as mother and daughter,
Jenelle Evans said.
Also, my mother agrees it’s time for Jace to be back with his siblings and living with a mother and father,
she added.
She also thinks it’s important for Jace to be around a father figure to learn ‘boy things’ and have ‘men talk.’ She has seen the way David parents my children, and she knows we’re able to handle it.
We want to all get along for the sake of the children and like I said before, building back our relationship as mother and daughter. We have officially signed the papers on Thursday, March 16th at the courthouse, it’s a done deal!
A source says that Jenelle and David have a stable relationship and that everything is great between them.
They’re a happy family and they are completely fine,
Evans’ manager said.
