Jennifer Coolidge was one of the best parts of the 80th Golden Globes, which didn’t come as a surprise.
The 61-year-old American Pie star gave out the award for best performance by an actor in a supporting role in a musical comedy or drama TV series on Tuesday, January 10.
She talked for three minutes before announcing Tyler James Williams as the winner for his role in Abbott Elementary. She made jokes about Crocs, teleprompters, and her fears of stumbling over her words.
Later, the actress who played Tanya McQuoid on White Lotus came out after winning the Golden Globe for best performance by an actress in a supporting role in a limited series.

During her speech, which was both touching and funny, she put the heavy gold figure on the floor and said:
I can put this down, right? I don’t work out, you know? What I mean is I can’t hold it that long,
and then she looked back at her career.
The Legally Blonde actress said that when she was young, she had “big dreams” that “fizzed out” as she got older, like wanting to be Queen of Monaco. However, some of her comments were edited out of the show.
I had these giant ideas, and then you get older, and you’re [bleep]. It’s just gonna happen anyway.
Jennifer Coolidge noticed that the crowd was laughing, but viewers couldn’t tell what was bleeped out.
Then, Jennifer Coolidge stood up for The White Lotus author Mike White, which made White cry. She said that he gave her a “new start” in her career. Then she said something funny:
Even if this is the end because you did kill me off, but it doesn’t matter.
Even if this is the end, you changed my life in a million different ways,
she went on and talked about what happened to her character in the popular HBO show.
My neighbors are speaking to me and things like that. I mean it. I was never invited to one party on my hill, and now everyone’s inviting me. I just – you know, it’s to you, Mike White,
she added as the audience laughed.
The star of “The Watcher” had more good things to say about the 52-year-old director as he cried and said:
This is something all of you – if you don’t know Mike White – this is what you should know: He is worried about the world, he’s worried about people.
He’s worried about friends of his that aren’t doing well, he’s always worried about people, you’re worried about animals, and he really is one of the greatest people I’ve ever [met],
she added.
Jennifer Coolidge ended her speech about her dear friend with one more swear word that was much easier to understand, even with the bleep:
So anyway, I just want to say, Mike White, I f***ing… I love you to death!
