The romance between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck that they put on hold two decades ago was renewed a year ago. Once upon a time, they were engaged, and much like in a movie, they discovered one another again and recognized their love remained.
Affleck and Lopez made the spontaneous decision to be hitched in Las Vegas last month after deciding they were ready to get married. Before getting married in a formal ceremony at A Little White Chapel, they had to stand in line to obtain their marriage license. They were pleased with the outcome of the wedding, even without an Elvis impersonator at the ceremony.
Lopez shared, “In the end it was the best possible wedding we could have imagined.”
Don’t be fooled by that assertion. It turns out that the couple didn’t really mean to say that a low-key ceremony in Las Vegas would be their sole wedding ceremony. No, the pair immediately began making preparations for an extravagant, multi-day ceremony at Affleck’s home in Georgia.
According to TMZ, the ceremony would take place at Affleck’s residence in Riceboro, Georgia, which is close to Savannah but approximately an hour away. His mansion has a 6,000 square-foot main residence with 3 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms that is situated on 87 acres of land.
This time, the pair are bringing their family and many A-list pals like Matt Damon, Jimmy Kimmel, and Drea de Matteo to their wedding instead of just a few of their kids like they did in Las Vegas.
The festival is scheduled for this weekend and is slated to last three days. The celebration will begin with a rehearsal dinner on Friday. The nuptials will happen on Saturday. The celebration will wrap up on Sunday with a picnic and BBQ.
Affleck wants the wedding weekend “to be all about J.Lo,” an insider told Page Six. The insider added, “Ben wants all of the focus to be on her for their big day.”
Although Lopez’s wardrobe will be covered by Vogue all weekend, it is thought that Lopez’s wedding gown is a one-of-a-kind Ralph Lauren creation that was created in Italy.
Although Lopez has been photographed visiting Affleck’s estate, she is not at all responsible for organizing the celebration. She has likely been there to examine plans. Event specialist Colin Cowie has been hired by the couple. Depending on the client’s needs, he charges anywhere from $25,000 to $25 million for event planning. He has previously worked with Lopez to stage events for her, but he has also organized events for famous people like Michael Jordan and Oprah Winfrey.
According to a source for Page Six, JLo will update her On the JLo newsletter subscribers about the occasion.
