The Portland Trail Blazers forward Jerami Grant is on the radar of the Boston Celtics. The 29-year-old might be an important element for the Celtics who are preparing for another quest for the title. They have already made some moves that solidify their claim for the title.
Jerami played a total of 63 games for the Celtics last season and averaged 20.5 points, 2.4 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game. The Celtics would love to have him on their roster due to Robert Williams’ injury issues. Can the Celtics finally cover the last mile and win the NBA title for the first time since 2008? How much would landing Jerami help? Here is all the information you need about the trade between the Portland Trail Blazers and the Boston Celtics involving Jerami Grant.
What would the Celtics offer for Jerami Grant?
The Celtics might offer Robert Williams, Al Horford, and Payton Prichard in exchange for Jerami Grant. The Blazers have not done a lot of trade this summer, but they were the talk of the town due to the Damian Lillard saga. They signed Scoot Henderson and extended Jerami, but Damian has probably spoiled the party for them.
Jerami Grant is a future player to monitor on the trade market, per @MikeAScotto
“Another trade candidate to monitor down the line will be Jerami Grant, who agreed to a five-year, $160 million deal with the Blazers before the team received word that Lillard wanted out of… pic.twitter.com/VZSR4Q28sa

Why would the Blazers trade-off Jerami Grant?
The Blazers would have kept Jerami if Damian had stayed, but after Damian’s departure, they would have to go through the rebuilding phase, and Jerami is not the right player for the same. They would like to get some return value for him, will the Blazers agree to a deal that would give them three decent players? William’s health is the only concern, he is a brilliant player otherwise. Payton is a great backup for Henderson as well.
“They committed, in Portland, $160 million to Jerami Grant… certainly with Damian Lillard in mind. And now, less than 24 hours later, Lillard has asked for a trade. He prefers a trade to the Miami Heat.”

Why would the Celtics like to sign Jerami Grant?
The Celtics might put their faith in Robert Williams again and refuse to do the deal, but how long are they going to hold onto an injury-prone player? Jerami is durable and is more efficient at offense. He is good at floor spacing and shot creation, along with his defensive abilities. They would be happy to trade both Pritchard and Horford because it would make them better and give them extra salary space as well.
Will the Celtics trust Williams again, or are they going to land Jerami Grant? We’ll keep you updated.
