A source said that the car’s safety features failed about a quarter mile from the house, causing it to roll over and run over Jeremy Renner’s leg.
Jeremy Renner had lost a lot of blood by the time he was airlifted from the snowy scene at 9:50 in the morning, even though a neighbor who was also a doctor had tried to stop the bleeding by putting a tourniquet on Renner’s injured leg.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that the following was what had happened:
At approximately 9:00am on January 1, 2023, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traumatic injury in the area of Mt. Rose Highway in Reno, Nevada.
Upon arrival, Deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital.
Mr. Renner was the only involved party in the incident.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team is currently looking into the circumstances of the incident.
Sonni Pacheco, who was Renner’s first wife, is the mother of their daughter.
