Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman, the Mexican drug kingpin was found guilty on Tuesday in crimes that spanned for more than a quarter of a century. According to the prosecutors, Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman has been smuggling more or less 200 tons of cocaine in the United States.

The trial session of Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman lasted for three months. There were also deliberations of six days in the trial.
After this the jury of New York found Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman, who is the Sinaloa cartel leader, guilty on each of the 10 charges on which the trial was going on.

Mexico abolished capital punishment years ago. Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman is due to be sentenced in the United States on 25th of June.

The jury also learned about the methods of smuggling cocaine, heroin, meth and marijuana into the U.S that were used by Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman.
These methods include smuggling in jalapeno cans or via rail cars in a concealed manner through legal points of entry. The methods also include wrapping up of the narcotics in waterproof packages.
The most dramatic one is the smuggling via an elaborate maze of tunnels at the border.

The jury also learned how Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman punished a man who worked for another cartel.
He burned the man with a clothing iron and then left him in a hen house for days so that he suffered.
He then shot the man and later buried him alive. The entire story was gruesome and nothing less than a movie-esque tale
According to the defense attorneys of Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman, he is shockingly “very upbeat”. Guzman had been bringing up the spirits of the defense attorneys according to them.
Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman: the convictions
El Chapo has been convicted of all the ten charges against him. This includes engagement in a continuing criminal enterprise along with distribution and conspiracy of narcotics internationally.
The accusations also comprise of importation as well as distribution conspiracy of cocaine internationally. Usage of firearms is also a part of the conviction.
