Jodhi May was born on May 8, 1975, to a French-Turkish art teacher and a German father. Her godfather, film producer Alain Poiré, played a crucial role in instilling her love for cinema during her formative years.
May attended Camden School for Girls and began her acting journey at the age of 12. She then went on to pursue English studies at Wadham College, Oxford.
