The Philadelphia Sixers’ star center and forward, Joel Embiid, might get traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder this offseason. We have already heard violent rumors and have seen some blockbuster trades this summer. The latest addition to the list was the Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard’s trade to the Milwaukee Bucks. James Harden followed the trend when Damian made a request. Will we see James going as well? Would that lead to Embiid’s departure?
The Kansas Jayhawks product Embiid played 66 games for the Sixers last season and averaged 33.1 points, 4.2 assists, and 10.2 rebounds per game while shooting 33 percent from beyond the arc. It’d be a chaotic battle between the teams if he is put on the market. The Thunder want to land him; can they make it happen? Here is all the information you need about the trade between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Philadelphia Sixers involving Joel Embiid.
What would the Thunder offer for Joel Embiid?
The Thunder are expected to offer Josh Giddey, Chet Holmgren, two 2025 first-round picks, and one first-round pick each from the years 2026 and 2027 in exchange for the Sixers’ #21. Will the Sixers be satisfied with the package? Will we see them asking for more players or draft picks?

Why would the Thunder like to sign Joel Embiid?
Every team in the NBA would be delighted to land the reigning MVP. But only the Thunder have an immense treasure of draft picks to make it happen. They have a quality roster and all they needed was a superstar like Embiid. The Thunder might contend for a championship as well if they pull this off.

Why would the Sixers trade-off Joel Embiid?
The Sixers do not want to part ways with their star. They are convincing James Harden to stay, and if that does not work out, they are also considering landing a replacement for the veteran. They would hope this convinces Embiid to play for them. If not, they are getting a good package here and they can ask for some more as well.
Will the Sixers be able to retain both Harden and Embiid on their roster? How would the Thunder line up if they land Embiid? We’ll keep you updated.
