The moment Doctor Who returns to the BBC and Disney+, Ncuti Gatwa, the fifteenth Doctor, will be crossing paths with Jonathan Groff (Mindhunter, Frozen). Jonathan Groff will be a part of the long-running sci-fi drama in a “mysterious guest role,” about which the BBC won’t reveal much. As of now, we don’t know who Jonathan Groff will be in the show, but we do know he’ll “jump aboard the TARDIS,” which means that he’s set to go on an adventure with the Doctor.
The showrunner of Doctor Who, Russel T Davies said,
This is an incredible coup, and a great honour, to get such a huge star striding on to our set. So strap on your space boots, this is going to be a blast!
Ncuti Gatwa (Sex Education) will be playing the fifteenth Doctor in season 14 of Doctor Who. Millie Gibson will play the role of Ruby Sunday, the Doctor’s companion, while Yasmin Finney (Heartstopper) will play Rose. Jinkx Monsoon, RuPaul’s Drag Race star, will have a significant role in the same.
Whilst still being in total disbelief, I am beyond honoured to be cast as the Doctor’s companion,
Millie Gibson said this about joining the cast.
It is a gift of a role, and a dream come true, and I will do everything to try and fill the boots the fellow companions have travelled in before me. And what better way to do that than being by the fabulous Ncuti Gatwa’s side, I just can’t wait to get started.
Ncuti Gatwa, who will be playing the fifteenth Doctor, added,
Millie just is the companion. She is full of talent, strength, she has a cheeky sparkle in her eye and is sharp as a razor. From the moment she walked into the room she captured all of our attention with her effervescence and then solidified that attention with the sheer torque of her talent. This adventure is going to be so wild and so fun, I cannot WAIT to sail the universe with Millie!
It seems that the new season of Doctor Who is progressing to be something special, and sounds like it will be different from the previous Doctor Who time-travel saga. We’ll be sure to watch it. Are you? Let us know in the comments section.
