Jorge Masvidal has achieved huge success in UFC after his last fight where he knocked out his opponent in just a few seconds. The fighter from Florida state is now so much confident that he is calling out the UFC superstar Conor McGregor for a fight. Masvidal started his career in 2013 and has been a part of 47 professional fights till now.
In his career of 6 years, he has beaten strong opponents like Micheal Chiesa, Donald Cerrone and Darren Till. At the same time, Jorge has also lost to Al Iaquinta, Lorenz Larkin and Stephen Thompson. But that doesn’t stop Masvidal from challenging McGregor and taunting to break his face for an easy paycheck. Here are the reasons why Masvidal is getting so much limelight and what he has to say on the fight.
Fastest Knock out in UFC
In the most recent fight that happened on Saturday, Jorge Masvidal and Ben Askren fought at the UFC 239. The match ended in just 5 seconds, when Masvidal jumped across the cage and hit a flying knee on Askren’s face and he was immediately knocked out. Masvidal now owns the record of fastest knockout in the UFC history, which previously belonged to Conor McGregor for knocking out Jose Aldo in 13 seconds.
Due to the breakout fight, Jorge Masvidal can now enter the big leagues and even get a title match with champion Kamaru Usman. Along with that, Masvidal is also eligible for ‘Knockout of the year’ and welterweight world championship tournament.
Jorge Masvidal vs Conor McGregor
Even though Conor McGregor is one of the highest celebrity, he is not great in the UFC fights in recent times. He has lost to Floyd Mayweather, and tapped out to rookie Nate Diaz and Khabib Nurmagomedov. Masvidal is aware of all this and mocks fun of McGregor on tapping out so easily.
“He always backs down. He is so easy to break, and he has tapped many times. Look at me, I have never submitted or tapped out in my entire career. It’s not in my book and it is something I will never do. When I fight, it would be easy and I would break his face.” said Masvidal.
