Fans of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga have expressed dissatisfaction with the author’s recent alterations to his art style. Readers are having difficulty connecting with the main character, Yuji, who appears to be very different from previous illustrations. Many people are questioning why Akutami’s art style has abruptly changed.
Jujutsu Kaisen Manga: What Happened To Gege Akutami’s Art Style?
Earlier fans complained about Gege Akutami forgetting how to draw Gojo Satoru, now it seems that the author has eventually changed his art style for the protagonist Yuji Itadori as well. While few of the fans are finding it quite amusing, some fans are not taking it lightly.
That new Yuji art does not serve justice to the new artsyle

They feel that Gege Akutami is losing his touch somehow, and they have started to miss the old illustrations. Yuji’s previous features were fairly sharp, and the new illustrations for the Jujutsu Kaisen manga cover appear to have dulled them out.
I love JJK especially what Mappa is doing with the anime. But, personally I find Gege’s style in the Manga hard to follow and understand exactly what’s happening in each panel. Especially the more recent stuff.

However, this image of Yuji seems just another effect of bad coloring which made him a bit “chunky.” Previously, Gege Akutami was under fire for messing up with the illustration of Gojo Satoru, with the fans asserting that his hatred for the fan-favorite character is emerging in public day by day. But is this case though?
Yes, I like his new art style. I think he’s developing well as an artist. He’s able to convey movements and action scenes far better now. I also like Yuji’s jawline. It looks strong.

There have been some popular mangas in which the mangaka has arbitrarily altered their art style, and we cannot blame the writers because this is inevitable while drawing for so many years at once. Gege Akutami’s previous art style in Jujutsu Kaisen manga was fluid, with various dynamic elements added to the characters.
I love his new style, the older style especially from the beginning of jujutsu kaisen and jjk 0 was bland it didn’t have anything to make it stand out the new art style I believe is one of the most unique styles of the all the modern shounen.

His more recent illustrations in Jujutsu Kaisen manga, on the other hand, have a human-like quality, since the drawing appears more relaxed, which he may have achieved by taking his time with the rounded features. Yuji’s previous features were fairly sharp, and the new illustrations for the Jujutsu Kaisen manga cover appear to have dulled them out. A few of the fans have noticed that his art style is steadily evolving.
