Jujutsu Kaisen is an action-adventure manga written by Gege Akutami. The manga follows a high school boy named Itadroi Yuji. Yuji was born with incredible physical strength and stamina. The boy encounters a curse called Sukuna and eats his finger. Yuji becomes the vessel that Hrabours, the king of curses, calls “Sukuna.” Gojo Satoru, a special-grade sorcerer, takes him to the school of Jujutsu to train and nurture the boy.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2
Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen begins with Gojo Satoru’s arc. The arc comprehensively covers the past incidents that set the stage for the current ones. It covered the chapters of Gojo’s past arc, which was split into two sections: The Hidden Inventory and The Premature Death arc. The makers then confirmed that season 2 will also set the stage for the Shibuya incident arc.
After Gojo Satoru’s past was explored, the anime moved on to the next segment, The Evening Festival arc. This arc covers the basis on which anime viewers will witness the plan set by Kenjaku. The mole among the students is discovered, and it turns out to be Mechamaru. Mechamaru, or Kokichi Muta, the original body behind the puppet curse technique, strikes a deal with Kenjaku.

Kenjaku promises to heal Kokichi through ideal transformation and remove his physical imperatives in exchange for information accessible only to the students of Jujutsu High School. After the deal was done, Mechamaru fights Mahito and dies in the process. This sets the base for the Shubiuya arc. Mechamaru reveals that on October 31st, Gojo Satoru will be imprisoned and a huge number of curses will be released into Shibuya to wreak havoc.
Will the whole Shibuya arc be covered in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2?
MAPPA confirmed that season 2 will consist of 23 chapters. The first five were Gojo’s past, and the rest will be the Shibuya incident arc. The Shibuya incident arc is very information-heavy and may require the studio to split the anime season into two parts consisting of 12–13 episodes each. The various incidents that play out during the arc, such as Nanami’s death, Gojo’s imprisonment, Nobara’s fall, the culling game beginning, etc., cannot be covered in the episode span that is mentioned.
In order for MAPPA to do justice to the arc it is required that they slow down the pace of Jujutsu Kaisen and consider each episode to carry as much manga content as possible. Fans can watch the anime on Netflix and Crunchyroll. The manga is available on Manga Plus and Viz Media. Follow Hiptoro for the latest updates on trending manga and anime.
