Not much time is left for the release of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2. Fans were shocked by Mappa with a 90-second preview of Season 2’s first episode at the Anime Expo, as they were already holding their breath for the official release.
Early Insights Revealed by Gojo’s VA for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2
Mappa surprised the audience by releasing a 90-second clip for Episode 1. Fans had it coming more, as Mappa’s CEO and Shueisha Editor took center stage to reveal exciting news to fans for Season 2.
Season 2 won’t be a page-by-page continuation of the manga series; instead, there will be brand-new scenes featuring the most popular characters.

Shueisha editor Ryota Ikeda revealed Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is having the author Gege Atakumi involved in the production work to maintain the originality of the series.
MAPPA and Akutami-sensei are often in communication and make sure that if something goes out of line they can fix it. Akutami-sensei is involved in writing the scenarios and checking the scenes and doing the storyboards as well.
Manabu Otsuka, the CEO of Mappa, promised the fans some exciting experiences with Season 2 and scenes “that you’ve never seen before” by teasing the appearance of Toji Fushiguro.
What you just saw was a quiet and calm opening but when you go into the episode you will see comedy and action scenes.
Voice actor Junya Enoki expressed his enthusiasm for Season 2 and the story arcs that will be addressed in this season in a pre-recorded message to the fans.
Voice Actor Yuichi Nakamura also expressed his thoughts over Season 2, defining the main story as “super dark.”

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is reported to cover the Gojo Past arc from the manga, also known as the Premature Death Arc or the Hidden Inventory Arc, in the first half of the season. The Shibuya Incident Arc will likely be covered in the second half of the season, which might be released during Autumn 2023.
