Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is just around the corner! The second season of the popular Japanese anime Jujutsu Kaisen is scheduled to debut in 2023.
During an event in Japan (H/T Crunchyroll), the announcement of the release of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 was made, but the exact premiere date is still unknown. There are three potential release periods: Winter 2023 (from January 2023), Spring 2023 (from April 2023), or Fall 2023 (from October 2023). However, the most probable release window is Fall 2023.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2: Get Ready for More Curses and Action
New visual material for the highly anticipated anime series has been unveiled. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will center on Satoru Gojo, Shoko Ieiri, and Geto Suguru, all characters from the manga. The upcoming season will be broadcast for two cours (a half-year period) without interruption and will adapt the Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu and Shibuya Incident storylines. The first season of Jujutsu Kaisen concluded with the resolution of the Death Painting Arc, which is based on manga chapters 55-64.
The upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will feature the Kaiyoku Gyoku Ori, which narrates the backstory of Gojo, Natsuyu, and other characters. The Gojo’s Past arc begins before the end of season one and will showcase Gojo’s time as a Jujutsu High student. It will be based on manga chapters 65-79. Additionally, it may include the mission of Gojo and Geto to escort a Star Plasma Vessel to Tengen, as anticipated by Games Radar.
In Jujutsu Kaisen, the Shibuya Incident Arc is the sixth narrative arc written by Gege Akutami, which will adapt chapters 79 through 136 of the manga. This story arc depicts the Shibuya Incident that occurred on October 31, 2018, and follows the cursed spirits and curse users’ alliance, led by Mahito and Pseudo-Geto, as they make their final attempt to seal Satoru Gojo.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0, the prequel to the main storyline, begins a year before the events of Yuji Itadori’s story and revolves around Yuta Okkotsu as the central protagonist. Although Yuta was not featured in the first season, he was frequently mentioned by other characters in relation to past events. Satoru Gojo recruits Yuta into Jujutsu High after he becomes cursed by his childhood friend Rika, who is classified as a Special Grade cursed spirit due to her immense strength. Yuta struggles to control Rika’s power as he has no experience in using cursed techniques. Meanwhile, Suguru Geto is on a mission to capture Yuta Okkotsu, with a specific target on Rika, to add her to his collection of controlled cursed spirits, setting up a climactic battle with his former best friend turned adversary, Gojo Satoru.
